Slapping snooze every morning is one of my bad habits. My alarm first rings at 5 am. I slap it twice, and then it’s 5:30. This is when I get up.
The other day I was so tired and ended up hitting snooze till 6. I figured I probably wouldn’t get up in time to spend my quiet time with the Lord.
The failure feeling hung over me like overcast clouds, so I tried to pray. Laying in bed, I started to doze off again. Suddenly, a verse popped in my head.
“No temptation has seized you beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
I jolted awake. I knew that God had spoken to me through his word.
The temptation for those extra few minutes of sleep is real, but so is the power of God when we step into obedience.
I immediately got up and got to my quiet time.
This is just a small-scale temptation situation. First Corinthians 10:13 has definitely brought encouragement into my early mornings ever since. I wanted to share this small story to show how my mornings are being transformed by Him. I still fail. Busy weekends make it hard to get back into routine. But that’s where God’s grace comes in. He doesn’t expect perfection just a desire for Him.
God bless
